	Create thumbnails with the pictures stored on the disks

	Gentibus CD can create and store the thumbnails of the image files stored on the disks. The 'Images' panel allows you to explore these thumbnails.

	Ability to use several disks catalogs

	Several types of disks can be cataloged : cd-roms, zip or jazz cartridges, hard disks... The file properties and the tree structure are stored on the catalogs.

Simple and fast search with many criteria

Research of files and folders is carried out in a simple way by selecting and setting the desired research criteria

	Exploration of the removable disks as a only one disk

	The “Folders" view makes it possible to see the whole of the cataloged disks as if it was only one disk. This is very useful if you use disks whose folder structure is almost the same.

	Special thumbnail panel to explore the image files

	You can use the 'Images' panel to explore the thumbnails on your disks, only the folders containing images are shown.

	Use a special browser for each kind of file : video, audio and program files

	Gentibus CD offers a special browser for audio, video and program files.

	Exploration of the contents of archive files (rar, zip)

	The contents of archive files (zip, rar) are recorded, you can make some search in the archive files without having to open them. (see the Acknowledgements section for more information).

Fast recovery of the cataloged files

The Recovery function allows to copy quickly the files present in the catalog on your hard drive.

Export the file lists to HTML and CSV formats

The Export function to HTML format makes it possible to send in your internet navigator the list of the elements stored on your disks.

The CSV export format can be used to open the file lists with a database software.

	Retrieve from internet the titles and authors of your audio cd-roms

	Some internet sites (called CDDB) make it possible to download information about the audio CD-ROMs : albums and song titles, artists, a.s.o... Gentibus CD can retrieve automatically this information from the servers FreeDB : www.freedb.org

	Extract information from avi, text, html, wav, mp3 and program files

	When you scan a disk, Gentibus CD can extract information from special files like MP3 or AVI video.

	Create HTML pages with the thumbnails stored in the catalogs

	If you want to create internet thumbnail pages with the images stored on your disks, just display the thumbnails in Gentibus CD and use the HPML export function.

Explore the catalog by file properties

Each special (audio, video, ...) view has a drop-down list making it possible to select the type of tree structure to be used. The "Folders" item displays the folders containing a certain type of file, the other items correspond to the specific properties of the files of the view.
